Become a Qualified Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) with TEN-B Training

Take your lifeguarding career beyond the pool with the Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) qualification — delivered by TEN-B Training, a trusted provider of professional lifeguard and aquatic safety education.

This nationally recognised qualification equips candidates with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to supervise and provide rescue cover for planned, organised, and risk-assessed activities in still, non-tidal open water environments.

Delivered over a minimum of three days, the OWL course combines expert-led practical training with comprehensive instruction in CPR, first aid, and open water rescue techniques. You’ll gain the competence and assurance needed to respond effectively and ensure safety in open water settings.

The course includes at least 18 hours of guided learning and concludes with both practical and theoretical assessments. Upon successful completion, candidates are awarded the Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) qualification, valid for two years from the date of certification.
