Whether you’re leading lessons, coaching clubs, or supporting school swimming, this qualification ensures you can keep swimmers safe and respond confidently in an emergency.
TEN-B Training delivers the course using a blend of theory, practical activities, and scenario-based coaching to help candidates build competence and confidence on poolside.

Swimming teachers and assistant teachers
Swimming and aquatic sports coaches
School teachers delivering swimming sessions
Club volunteers or helpers supporting pool-based activities
Anyone responsible for the supervision of programmed aquatic activity
No prior lifesaving qualification is required.




What You Will Learn
Participants will develop skills and knowledge in:
Pool Safety & Supervision
Understanding hazards, risk management, and safe practice
Roles and responsibilities during aquatic activities
Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
Rescue Skills
In-water and poolside rescue techniques
Casualty extraction and safe handling
Use of rescue equipment
Emergency Response
Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR for adults, children, and infants
Dealing with breathing and non-breathing casualties
Managing suspected spinal injuries
Effective teamwork during emergencies
Prevention & Early Intervention
Identifying swimmers in difficulty
Preventing incidents through proactive supervision
Assessment
Assessment is conducted by an independent RLSS assessor and includes:
Practical demonstration of rescue skills
CPR/BLS assessments
A short written or verbal theory test
Successful candidates receive the RLSS NRASTC qualification, valid for 2 years.
